The GNiT story



Grey Nomad in Training   is a business, origionally registered in Queensland in 2011, to providing both advise and practical training to clients who work on or near electrical parts.

The business is owned and operated by Barry Chappel, who is a Trade qualified Electrician (Certificate number 2956)
and a Trainer and Assessor (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 number 01443).

Barry has gained a vast amount of Electrical experience since first qualifying as an Electrical Mechanic, Electrical Fitter and Electrician in 1969. He has worked as a Maintenance Electrician in factories, an Electrical Inspector in the Electricity Supply Industry, an asset Inspector for a State Department, a Technician at a Power Station and a Trainer and Assessor for an Electricity Entity.

In 2007, Barry commenced his new career as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor.

He has a passion for electrical safety and has developed training materials focused on working safely around electrical equipment.

Grey Nomad in Training was established, in part, to provide Electrical Safety Training to workers in rural and regional areas. To this end, a customised fifth wheeler caravan was built to facilitate this bush training.
